Interconnection and VPN traffic delivery service (InterAS VPN) is a strategy of forging Network-to-Network Interconnection (NNI) partnership relations with regional and global carriers, a most cost-effective solution for enhancing capabilities of the partner operator’s IP/MPLS network.
InterAS VPN enables integration of customer’s offices and branches connected to telecom infrastructures of different providers into a singe virtual network while still preserving reliability, security and service levels.
The Service enables
provision of IP VPN services to customers beyond own IP/MPLS network;
fast expansion of the own network footprint;
significant increase of potential customer base for service offerings.
Service Features
Interconnection speed at the border of Rostelecom IP/MPLS network: up to 10 Gbps;
Various VPN network topology: star, full mesh, custom connectivity;
3 Classes of Service (CoS) are available:
Business Priority: jitter and delay critical traffic;
Business Critical: packet loss critical data;
Normal Priority: service level insensitive data;
Port profile options:
Highest: up to 100% of the bandwidth available for any of the following classes of traffic: Business Priority, Business Critical, Normal Priority;
Priority: up to 100% of the bandwidth available for any of the following classes of traffic: Business Critical, Normal Priority;
Regular: up to 100% of the bandwidth available for Normal Priority traffic;
Flexible billing options are available for each connection port:
volumes based billing depending on amount of transmitted information;
flat rate fixed amount charge, regardless of the transmitted information volumes;
For volumes based billing charges are differentiated depending on the transmission’s geographical destination (zone based billing) and traffic CoS.
Why Rostelecom?
Ubiquitous connectivity
The widest footprint of Rostelecom network. Rostelecom’s own core IP/MPLS network stretches over 40 thousand km;
Some 200 access points are available for connection to IP/MPLS network located in all federal administrative districts of Russia, as well as at international Traffic Exchanges beyond Russia: in Stockholm, London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, and Hong Kong;
Core IP/MPLS network throughput: 1 Tbps;
Capacity of external upstreams: 200 Gbps.
High availability and guaranteed quality of service
IP/MPLS network is based on most advanced equipment currently used in Russia: Juniper T1600 core routers with throughput up to 1.6 Tbps; Juniper MX960, Juniper MX480, Juniper М320, Juniper M40 edge routers;
Guaranteed QoS is ensured due to using Rostelecom’s own backbone resources and constant expansion of IP/MPLS network’s capacity;
High reliability and availability is attained by the ring-type protection of Rostelecom’s core IP/MPLS network;
Additional Service Level Agreements (SLA) are signed with customers to guarantee 99.7% service availability (not more that 130 minutes of outages monthly);
Constant real time network monitoring is performed;
Round-the-clock (24x7) English-speaking customer support service is available.
Security and data protection
High degree of data protection is achieved by employing standardized MPLS mechanisms, where all virtual private channels are separated from each other to guarantee complete protection of traffic against unauthorized access;
Rostelecom’s IP/MPLS network is officially certified by the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control of Russia as the packet switched network with increased means of information security and prevention of unauthorized data access.
Even more
Several services subscription opportunity, using a single customer connection port. For instance, outgoing domestic long-distance and international VoIP calls, Internet access, data center services and VPN can be provided over a single Ethernet port with service separation by means of Vlan;
